Bio

Born in the family of musicians Dr. Huggannavar got training from his maternal uncle Pt. Lingaraj Bua Yaraguppi, who along with Pt. Mallikarjun Mansur and pt. Basavaraj Rajguru was the desciple of Pt. Nilkanth Bua Mirajkar. 

Dr. Huggannavar holds MA in Music with gold medal from Karnataka University , Dharwad. M.Sc in Botany from the same university. Got Phd in the subject - 'Music around Kundagol- from Hampi University. 

Dr. Ashok is a B-high grade artist of All India Radio and regular performer of AIR and Television. He has performed across India and abroad.

● Panchakshari Gavai music festival Gadag Punyashram and many more. 

He has received the awards 

● 'Gayana Chatura', 

● 'Kalajyothi', 

● 'Pt. Mallikarjun Mansur award from Ananya Bangalore, and 

● 'Kalashri' award from the Govt. Of Karnataka. 

Many of his disciples are national and international artists.He is currently working as the HOD of Music in SDM College ,Honnavar. Karnataka.
