Smt Lalita Sharma is a well-known exponent of the Mewati Gharana of Hindustani music. She initially trained in Carnatic music in Kolkata, where she was born and raised. She continued training under Sri V R Krishnan of Chennai. Her introduction and training in the nuances of Hindustani classical music came from the inimitable Padma Vibhushan late Pandit Jasraj. She has founded the Pandit Jasraj Schools in Florida, Atlanta and Los Angeles. She has several performances, recordings and compositions to her credit. Smt Sheetal Limaye is a classical and semi-classical vocalist based in Pune. She has trained under Smt. Rajeshwari Dikshit in Indore, and Smt. Manjiri Alegaonkar in Pune. For the last 10 years, she has been receiving tutelage under Vidushi Padma Talwalkar. She also offers music lessons under her guidance. Sheetal is an AIR artist for Marathi and hindi light music.
Also featuring Visham Pathak on the Sitar. Visham is a 9th grader and has been learning sitar since the age of 7 from Dr Prasad Joglekar and from Pt Partha Chatterjee. He's also learned Hindustani vocals since hte age of 7. He received the AACM scholarship to learn from Ustad Alam Khan. He's a Indian Raga Fellow and is also an advanced Trumpet player in his school's band.
And, Vijay Ghaskadvi on Harmonium. He took initial lessons on Harmonium from his father Shri Sadanand Ghaskadvi, starting at an early age. His are of focus has been solo performances and has received guidance from Dr Arawind Thatte. For many years, he's has been learning with Sitar Maestro Pt Partha Chatterjee. Vijay regularly accompanies local and visiting artists in the Bay area. Vijay is also included towards the rhythmic aspect of India classical music and has been learning Tabla for several years from Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri. He teaches music at introductory and advanced level. He's an alumnus of IIT Bombay and works as a tech leader in Silicon valley.
And, Souvik Ghosh on Tabla. He comes from a music-loving family, where his interest in music first arose after his sister started learning hindustani vocal music. Souvik started learning tabla at the age of 10 under Sri Muralidhar Pai. Since then, he has received training from Sri Debu Nayak, Ustad Hamid Hossain, and Enayet Hossain. He's currently a disciple of Pt Abhijit Banerjee at the Dhwani academy of percussion. Souvik is originally from Maryland, where he attended the University of Maryland and now works as a software developer at Google.
