Navratri concert: Shri Amol Gandharva

Bio

He started learning vocal classical music at the age of four. Later, he was under able tutelage of  Pandit Gangadharbuva Pimpalkhare who has been instrumental behind his rock-solid  foundation. After completing his bachelor’s degree in engineering, he went to Kolkata to learn  from Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty and stayed with him for 3 years which enriched his musical  abilities.

Amol Nisal is the Recipient of ‘Amol Gandharva’ at the hands of ‘Bhajan Samrat’ Shri Anup Jalota, when he was  barely 13. Amol stepped into the music field with confidence and clarity that he adapted at a tender age. 

Ever since his stage debut at seven, he has been performing all over India and abroad too,  receiving accolades from learned Indian listeners and overseas audiences from countries like  Canada, Australia, Singapore, Middle east and even South America. 

With his melodious yet  solid and cultured voice as well as technical mastery, he has been consistently appearing in  various music programs featuring Indian contemporary as well as traditional music 

Since back from Kolkata, Amol has been ably handling dual responsibilities of being a  successful Sales Executive in Industrial Instrumentation and a versatile vocalist. 

Some of his musical achievements and performances include: 

▪ Selection as a cultural ambassador of India to Latin American countries through a  scholarship from Rotary International. During the tour, he performed at various places  in Uruguay, Brazil and Argentina which included a program with local folk band. The  tour was a great success in terms of creating awareness among audience about Indian  Music as a whole. 

▪ He is an awardee under ‘Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme’ in the field of  Hindustani Vocal Music by Center for Cultural Resource & Training. 

▪ He is also awarded with Swara zankar’s young upcoming talent award 2015 given to  promising artists. 

▪ Featured in ‘Young Achievers’ - special edition of Citizen – a supplement of Indian  Express, Pune. 

▪ Featured in music section of Zee TV during his music tour at Canada and the interview  was aired on local Zee news in Toronto 

▪ Music tour to Australia for performances at Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. ▪ Performance at Singapore Kala Utsavam- Indian festival of Arts in Singapore ▪ Tour to Canada through Raagmala- an organization promoting Indian classical music in  Toronto 

▪ Performance at Dubai for Surhindol- an organization promoting Indian classical music  in UAE 

▪ Tour to Qatar for performances in Doha during Deepawali celebrations of Maharashtra  Mandal 

▪ Performance in the presence of eminent musicians including his mentor Shri. Anup  Jalota, in a program organized by Akhil Bharatiya Grahak Panchayat at Pune. ▪ Classical and light classical music performance in the presence of Shri. Shivraj Patil,  New Delhi 

▪ Many other performances at prestigious festivals like Pune Ganesh Festival, Pune  Navratri Mahotsav, Kesri Wada Ganesh Utsav, Saras Bag Ganesh Utsav 

▪ Recording of a classical based song as a playback singer for a movie 

▪ Working on a prestigious project ‘Bhimsen Studios’ by Arya Sangeet Prasarak Mandal  for promotion of Indian Classical Music 

Amol has also Conceptualized Swaraninad – an institute to impart knowledge about Indian  Music which right now has 20 plus dedicated students learning vocal music. Swaraninad also organizes a Music Festival of great repute named Gangadhar Swarotsav in the  memory of Amol’s first Guru Pandit Gangadharbuva Pimpalkhare
